Farmer's Pot / Bauerntopf
This hearty dish, made with meat and vegetables in a spicy sauce, is perfect for these days when we need a real comfort food.
Ingredients
- 100 g Ground meat
- 1 medium Onion
- 2 clove Garlic
- 4 small Potatoes
- 1 small Red bell pepper
- 1 medium Carrot
- 8 whole Mushrooms
- 1 l Vegetable stock
- 1 tbs Chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1 tsp Thyme
- 1 tsp Sweet paprika
- 1 tsp Spicy paprika
- 1 pinch Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Peel potatoes and red pepper into cubes not too small and cut the carrot and the mushrooms into bite-sized pieces.
- Peel onion and garlic and chop finely. Mix the meat with the spices.
- In a large pot, add a splash of olive oil and cook the garlic with the onion. After 2 minutes, add the seasoned meat and stir occasionally. Add the chopped tomatoes.
- Next, add the potatoes and the carrot, cover with the vegetable stock and bring to boil for 15 minutes, then add the pepper and the mushrooms.
- Let it simmer until the potatoes are done. Finally, season again if it needs it. Serve with finely chopped parsley.
